Our Company

A leader in the construction business across the Hawaiian Islands, Betsill Brother Construction has been operating on the Island of Maui since 1993. To date, our diverse team has completed over 1000 projects ranging from $25,000 up to $30M. The last twelve years we’ve focused on commercial, concrete, site work and industrial work for the State of Hawai’i and Maui County. The DOE selected us to represent them in a special JOC program to help keep up with emergency projects and to give us a continual supply of jobs.

Known for delivering high levels of quality and craftsmanship, we’ve worked with large and small businesses, government agencies, schools, churches, non-profits and homeowners. Our goal is to deliver the best quality results while treating everyone involved with the utmost fairness and respect.

History

Betsill Brothers began in the 1970s, with Doyle Betsill Sr., who taught his four sons a strong work ethic and gave them a solid foundation in the construction industry. The sons – Doyle Jr., Dwayne, Steve and Randy together founded Betsill Brothers on Kauai in 1993 to help repair the destruction from Hurricane Iniki. A year later, they moved to Maui and started building 42 homes in Waiehu Terrace. Today, Dwayne Betsill, president and CEO, operates the company which now focuses exclusively on Maui.

Dwayne’s dad taught his sons that if you provide good service and build a better home for less, you will always have plenty of work. That work ethic allows us to streamline the construction process, stay on schedule and reduce costs. We adhere to all state and federal environmental standards. BBC is a Smart Growth advocate. We believe in early and comprehensive planning to specifically match the land, environment and community needs.

As a general contractor, we are with the client from beginning to end, starting with bidding and estimating. For General Contracting jobs, we handle:

Safety: Our jobs have a low incidence of injury because we protect our people. We conduct our daily operations in full compliance with local, state, and federal regulations with the goal of an accident-free jobsite.
Covid-19 mitigation procedures include wearing a face covering at all times, adhering to physical distancing of 6 feet on jobsites, avoiding large gatherings, testing those with symptoms, practicing handwashing hygiene and encouraging workers to stay home if sick. Our Covid-19 Liaison promotes safety initiatives throughout the company and circulates safety materials to employees and subs.
